Standard dog jackets are notoriously poor fitting on Dachshunds — they are too short in the back, too narrow, and either sit on the withers or gap open at the back end. For Dachshunds, the two most important measurements are back length (from neck base to tail base) and chest girth — back length especially needs to be generous for full coverage.
